Yaaay *cake*
*snooze*
My bloggiversary, mucho talked about but seldom seen, is March 5. Which I believe so happens to be International Women's Day. Whoops, turns out it's the 8th of March. I can't count it seems, my point still stands. We'll just celebrate that instead :D Cake is cake on any day.
Oh, hey, check it out. An early gift--comments are now being brought to you by DISQUS. I was going to go with Intense Debate, already having an account on it and all, but apparently ID doesn't support Blogger Classic, which I'm on, which is petty. Oh well, DISQUS was me second choice.
Why am I so inconveniencing you all? Because I HATE Blogger's comment system. It's so impersonal D:< and weird...I can't respond to you all so my funny replies get lost in space unless you habitually check individual blog entries like I do. But I don't have a life and I'm suspecting you all do. I've been annoyed with it since I started blogging but I didn't do anything because I had no idea about(warning: scientific language) third party commenting system thingies. But now I can!
So, fear not, you can still drop me knowledge & shite. I've got it set up, for now, where you can just leave me a comment, maybe your URL, and go on your merry way. No filters or anything, I'd much rather just drag you into that big Back Room with the padded walls and Master Lock *pause* pleeeease
Anyway...be sure to try it out. You can still leave comments on older posts in the regular Blogger-way if you click the title of the post. I lied, just continue hitting the comments link. I'd try it myself but Blogger is doing that thing where my entries just randomly vanish *rolls eyes* So definitely give it a go and tell me what you think.

Early bloggiversary to meeee~

Stealth Mode, go go go!
Dive!
I think I should mention that if you go to the bottom of my page, again--that is, if you've never made it to the bottom of my blog before--you'll see that I have a Feedjit map! Like the Feedjit live feed thing that shows you when people come on to or leave your blog, except a map. It's on all the awesome blogs now but no one has the map. I'm different!
There's a few reasons I have the map instead of the live feed thing, the foremost being that it totally clashed with my layout in terms of size. The regular feed just looked all awkward and shit. The map's smaller and does more of the same except I can't see search terms if you're popping in from google or something, and I can't see you come on/leave like the real time feed. Also, I tend to hit my own blog a lot which would have shown up on the real feed. Not on the map, just "Johnson City TN". No mention of how obsessively I comb over for broken links and what not, or doing posts even though I use ScribeFire. Fwah :D
Whew. Look at that map too. We've got quite the diverse array of stumblers from all over! I noticed a couple of folks seem to be trickling in from some of my older, less Fuck The World-centric posts *nuzzles a cuttlefish* which makes me wonder what exactly they're googling, but oh well. Whatever draws em in I guess. *face gets sucked off by aforementioned cuttlefish* !!!!!
The no search terms thing is one downside of the map, but also it's kinda creepy...it's the Google map so if I zoom in enough I can more or less see where you live. Don't worry though, believe me when I say I barely have the means to get myself off campus, let alone worry about where someone half across the country lives. You're not getting any freaky letters in the mail, either, again stamps cost money and I have none to spare. If I did I'd be eating right now. Hmm, but on the other hand this means other people can also see--not that they'll be getting your house address though.
So yeah that's what's fun today. I'm kinda playing around with it seeing if I even want to keep it there or not, which is why it's at the bottom of the page and not the Illustrious Sidebar. I care not so much about the stats, really, but more about the promotion it gives.

Some miscellany shoutouts
First off, everyone look over to my sidebar and scroll down. Now stare. I've got two new followers! Keep staring at them...put the pressure on. You know how I feel about folks not saying hi to me. I yell at them and cry.
Actually, I've been thinking about doing a de-lurker post. I don't think I have that many lurkerlings...I figure I post so frequently on so much that eventually you'll stumble on something that makes you mad or glad enough to comment. And if not...well...I don't hate you. I don't know why you hate me though *choked sob* WHAT DID I DO?!
Uh, anyway, if you get bored enough and scroll all the way to the bottom you might notice a few new buttons popping up now and then. No they weren't there before. I'm trying to do some half-assed blog advertising. You can still tell your friends & the hood but I figure we need some, uh, respectability up in this piece. Yeah I'm petty for having my marriage equality button all the way at the bottom of my page. I'm fixing it~
Lastly...you know what? I haven't gotten any hatemail in forever. Stop laughing, I'm so serious. I've gotten a couple of odd comments (Gethimamask doesn't count, I know he's joking) but not so much as a "omg ur sooooo ignorent" in months! I'm...kind of...jealous? Hurt? Am I desperately losing my touch? If you, you know, want to give me something for Valentine's Day, there's an idea for you. I even mentioned it to my mother. She gave me a card :D ...it wasn't a hateful card though.
And that's it. You may say, "Xands, if you have nothing to talk about, why blog?" And the answer is...I just...like to *blink*

Good news everyone!: Search it ya damn self.
Okay folks, look over to our wonderful side column over there and you'll notice that I've added a search feature.
I actually added it for my own benefit--I don't mind if you use it too, though. Unfortunately I'm a lazy bastard an awful lot and sometimes I just don't like to tag entries. Tags are good because they make stuff easier to find but I obviously hate you guys and myself.
But I had a random revelation and decided to stop self-hating and tack on a search feature. It works pretty well. I was mad at the fact that I wasn't able to find certain entries quickly--shit I KNOW I've written about but either didn't tag or tagged incorrectly or just can't find for whatever reason.
Whatever. I don't need to explain jack shit, just know that it's there. Also, my nose is bleeding again. This really is not what's up y'all.

About me columns
Okay, I did some brief election posting last night but I'm a little tired of it now...rest assured that I have some funny ass stories and zero friends about now though.
But I have to ask, is my side bar at the bottom of the page for anyone else? It looks normal on my laptop but I have like a 15 inch screen; I so happened to be on a desktop earlier and noticed my sidebar was mysteriously at the bottom of the page O.o;; anyone else notice this? I'll try to fix that...
Oh, by the way, pretty much everyone in all 4 of my classes today? Looked defeated as HELL! If my opponent pulled some straight Mortal Kombat shit on me like that I'd be hurt too. I need to stop.
Edyt: Okay...think I fixed it. It might look a little crowded right now. The problem is I have a 15 inch screen and 1200x800 resolutions so obviously it looks fine to me, but when I lowered my resolution I realized what the problem was. I love to tinker.

I need to go to sleep
I really do. My mind always just finds shit to do when I need to be sleeping.
I've been fucking around with HTML as usual (they shouldn't make it so easy). Look over to your right, did you see the border? No, that wasn't there before. And check out my
BIG, BRIGHT, OBNOXIOUS ASS BLOCK QUOTE.
Eh? Eh?
Don't even ask.
Uh, I might make some slight changes in the future. Don't be afraid :D
Edyt: Oh word, I put a border around my posts. Maybe you SHOULD be afraid... *writes this shit down for tomorrow*

Wee fixer uppers
Well it was time for new layout colors again :P since I've started doing more of my business from my laptop, my blue layout just started looking damn weird. In retrospect, really light blue isn't really good for computer screens because even on my PC it looked basically white. And I knew that but I liked it anyway, but I fell less in love with it every time I put my damn glasses on.
So I fixed it up again and didn't really mess with this layout much. I wish I could find one of those pre-made layouts that I actually liked. Something about a pre-made layout and the fact that it isn't mine just bugs the hell out of me.
These colors are a little drab but they show up and they're readable without being horribly distracting *shrug* so until I think of something better they're here to stay.

Enjoy the space
So, I finally decided that instead of dicking around with colors and shit, that my blog needed an overall rehaul. My sidebar was just looking like a bloody mess and contesting for space with my entries, and in reality I'm not so much a neat freak or perfectionist as I am someone who just likes a LITTLE order, so I couldn't stand looking at that. I got my profile together and made it not long as hell with unnecessary info, put some stuff at the bottom to balance things out and just mixed some things up.
I've got 3 bloglists now that aren't totally complete (and never will be, will they?) that I divided up into categories more or less: stuff for art, stuff for more political interests and just shit relating to me, and then friends and fun stuff. I think that kinda covers it between that and my links list, and honestly it just looks cleaner than trying to stuff all these unrelated blogs together and looking crazy.
So, I look at it now and realize it may not have been the colors bugging me after all! Just some needed change...maybe this can foretell better changes in my life now!

Movies, roll calls, and junk
Whee, I'm supposed to be watching Inferno today, the sorta-more-or-less sequel to Suspiria.
If I can find a decent version *ahem* Uh, to deck my blog out even more I've added a blogroll, over to the side. I decided that I just had to instead of constantly checking everyone's blogs for updates and stuff. Now I can just glance over to the side and see what my favorite blogs are up to! I'll add more as I go along.
Well, if I can't watch Inferno, I've got back up ideas. Yes, I think movie watching has definitely worked to get me out of my little slump I was going through there.

New layout...again
Hah, you'll notice that I've apparently gone purple and pink again. What can I say, the blue was putting me to sleep...and purple IS my favorite color :P it's an addiction.

New Title!
Haha, this is a little random, but I changed the title of my blog. I know on my Livejournal I pretty much change the title every other time I get a new layout, but I wasn't going to do that with my blog. And I'm still not.
I just looked at my title and felt it was a little defeatist and vague. I mean, it's no good to have such a super vague description of your blog or journal, right? Well, with my LJ it doesn't matter but it does on my blog, to me.
Also, it just felt defeatist. When I did the title and url thing it was more of a joke and how I felt at the time. I don't feel totally optimistic right now but I feel way better than I did when I did the title. So the URL can stay the same but I felt a title change was necessary to reflect how I'm feeling these days....
And going back to description, the title is long as hell but it officially describes my blog and what I like to talk about. I am a TV and movie addict, no doubt; I am a wannabe writer, and I SHOULD be famous, damnit.
So, more cheery and descriptive title. And I just nabbed the Snoop Dogg line from "Life of Da Party" because I love it so much. The delivery, the message, everything.

Firefox & ScribeFire
Anyway, this is a pretty nice feature. I can post to here, my LJ, and my Myspace (which, I can't feel happening but oh well) just by hitting F8, that ill-used key, and voila! I'm glad I did it, I was a little prudent at first but it's not so bad.
I've been trying not to go "add on" crazy with Firefox because I don't want to slow it down or add on too much useless junk. I like a simple efficient internet with the basics, not too many bells & whistles. It's all so silly, it's just the damn internet.
I am still trying to find a theme that I like...right now I've just got pretty blue icons, and I don't want anything elaborate, but I would kill to have something....PURPLE! I wish I knew enough about scripts to make my own but I don't...

Makeover time again, abouts
Even though I haven't even had this layout THAT long, I think I'm gonna change the colors up for spring :D even though it's pretty bright and lively as it is. I need to change up my LJ too because...I think I'm still on my January layout. Well anyway, the purples (on the LJ) aren't putting me in much of a springy mood so...I dunno. Maybe some nice yellows, I don't think I've used yellow yet.
Anyway, this blog is much easier and less time-consuming to change (and it only takes a lot of time for my Livejournal because I'm a secret interior designer). Maybe I can start using images, I dunno. I'll mess about and see what happens!
