I thought I told you, I couldn't stop

Okay, since I've decided I'm going to be on edge for a while...I've been having some weird ups and downs so I decided to start drinking more water *blink* Hey, stay hydrated...

Let me share this song with you by Jakob Dylan. Jakob is, actually, the son of my nigga numero uno Bob Dylan. He is devilishly handsome and morose, a little aloof kinda like his father was and is now. You probably remember him from the now defunct band The Wallflowers.

Well, baby boy's been solo for a bit and I just kinda...randomly re-got into his career a bit. His father beckoned me. That's how I randomly discovered this song, "I Told You I Couldn't Stop".

I'll tell you, Jakob (or, if you want to make him mad, Baby Dylan) does have some of the, er, eccentric lyrical abilities of his father. Is this shit genetic? Seriously, the two of them, you can't imitate their poetry without sounding like an outright fool and people have tried.

However, if you find yourself getting turned off as you imagine Bob wailing "HOW DOES IT FEEEEEEEE-UUUUUL?" just be assured that Jakob sounds close to nothing like his father. From any era of his career. Not in most of his songs anyway. In a few you'll hear him just randomly let loose but for the most part Jakob really wants to distance himself from Daddy Dylan. Reeeeally.

In my mind's eye a plantation
In the clearing is a platform station
In the distance is a kingdom
Into the front line is how I'm coming
They say in war all is fair
I am headed to the fields
In spite of my condition

Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop
Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop

Through the desert out to the sea
Weather-beaten through all four seasons
There is love in my creation
I've come back for all the right reasons
That ain't your castle
You're not a queen
That isn't yours
You're so busy there protecting

Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop
Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop

All this beauty, sticky sweet
This naughty world is due for a good deed
Give me your poor, tired huddled masses
Bring me the head of a mule and my glasses
Sing that lonesome high melody
Rumble young man but rumble behind me

Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop
Whatever you thought,
Whatever you thought,
You know I told you
I couldn't stop
