So I was browsing Blabbermouth, as I do when I feel slightly masochistic and/or want to know what Dave Mustaine of the Luxurious Locks is doing and I stumbled onto a new Alice in Chains news item. But before I go into this, Black Gives Way To Blue comes out Tuesday, buy it! ...or download it.
ALICE IN CHAINS Drummer Compares Having New Album Illegally Downloaded To Prison Rape - Sep. 27, 2009
of Chicago's Q101 radio station conducted an interview with ALICE IN CHAINS when the band played an acoustic set at the city's Hard Rock Cafe on Saturday, September 19. During the chat, the ALICE IN CHAINS members were asked for their thoughts on their new album, "Black Gives Way To Blue", being leaked on the Internet two weeks prior to the CD's official release date. "You know it's gonna happen 'cause it's part of [how the industry works nowadays], but you just hope it doesn't happen too far in advance," drummer Sean Kinney replied. "It's nothing unique [to this band]. [But] we hadn't been through it [before], 'cause we hadn't made a record in 14 years, so I think that's the initial shock. It's like, 'What?' We were talking about it earlier... It's like going to prison — you're know you're gonna get raped, but you're not ready for it. You think you're all prepared for it, but you're not really prepared for how violent that rape is. It's like, 'Wow! He's really giving it to me.'"
Well I think it goes without saying that SOMEONE DOWNLOADING YOUR GOT-DAMN ALBUM IN NO WAY EQUALS RAPE YOU FUCKING DUMB ASS WOW DID YOU REALLY JUST GO THERE.
Can we please stop using rape (and violent rape at that) as such an adjective now? Lulz it totally raped your wallet bro--no. Illegal downloading is not even that serious I don't care HOW seriously you take your fucking craft or where you stand on downloading. Jesus on the fucking mainline go back to being silent and get real. Lars Ulrich just sneered in your general direction.
if someone needs that joke explained please tell me
