Wanna take a survey?

Suuuure ya doooo! It's...for my class. Uh, LJ copy/paste for my life:

Anyway, you may or may not remember quite a few weeks ago I mentioned doing a survey for my English class. Well after months of anguish and pain here it is, finally. It's pretty short and it's not exactly what you'd call "scientific"--it's more...exploratory I guess you'd say. I'm not trying to figure out what part of the population believes in X or anything. So...it's pretty short, just answer anyway you want, if you want.

I'm having a bit of a bad...life right now, so please don't fuck around with me this day: either answer the questions or don't. If you give me "circle talk" I will punch you directly in the eye. They're not that bad.

I'll explain more of what this is about in another post. If you have an issue with a question--you think it's too vague, too stupid, too weird--that you think needs my dire attention, call me up at 1-800-DEEZ-NUTS and I'll get back with you.

But for now, I give you: the survey. Just answer in the comments.

1. Are you religious?

2. If so, do you pray? How often?

3. Do you believe prayer has the ability to cure sickness?

4. How do you feel about alternative medicines?

5. Could you or would you consider religion as a mental illness?

6. Do you believe religion/spirituality should have any place in modern medicine?

7. How would you feel about your doctor discussing religious concerns with you?

Make me proud!

  2. Thanks for answering! And yeah, directly in the fucking eye socket... That was more of a warning to some certain Livejournal people I know who I'd probably punch in the facial region without provocation anyway.

  3. 1. Are you religious? No, God doesn’t care about me. It only cares about the thing (the thing is unknown to us) as a whole.

    2. If so, do you pray? How often?

    3. Do you believe prayer has the ability to cure sickness? Possible, one believes therefore it is true.

    4. How do you feel about alternative medicines? Yes, we should have an open mind on all ideas when it comes to helping people.

    5. Could you or would you consider religion as a mental illness? Never, respect all religions.

    6. Do you believe religion/spirituality should have any place in modern medicine? Yes, faith is very powerful. With faith I have hope; with hope, the possibilities are endless.

    7. How would you feel about your doctor discussing religious concerns with you? I would listen with an open mind.

    Make me proud!

  4. Thanks for your responses Frank! I really liked your answer to #3.

...even though, as the researcher I'm not supposed to say that. You didn't hear/see that.

  5. 1. Are you religious?
I think the word religious has become distorted so no. I am spiritual though.

    2. If so, do you pray? How often?
I do once in a while.

    3. Do you believe prayer has the ability to cure sickness?
I believe the power of mind and willpower can, and so through determined prayer yes.

    4. How do you feel about alternative medicines?
    Big fan.

    5. Could you or would you consider religion as a mental illness?
    Organized religion, yes.

    6. Do you believe religion/spirituality should have any place in modern medicine?
I think spirituality and meditation are healthy and could be incorporated but none of that you are going to hell crap.

    7. How would you feel about your doctor discussing religious concerns with you?
I would feel very uncomfortable. None of their business, if i bring it up fine but they should never ask or assume.
