No-knockin, head rockin'

What say we folks? I'm not up to date on my black militants it seems for I just heard about Gil Scott-Heron earlier this week, thanks to...uhh, Common.

Apparently on his single "Universal Mind Control" Common took some inspiration from the proto-rap "No Knock" by Scott-Heron, specifically the line "No knockin', head-rockin', inter-shockin', shootin', cussin', killin', cryin', lyin', and bein' white"

and

turned it into " Gucci - rockin, coochies - poppin, movie - watchin, booties - shoppin, body - movin, showin, groovin, stylin and being fly".

Yeah I don't want to get into how I feel about Common and that jacka--er, I mean that nice young man Pharrell. Except I refute this in the name of the Crawling Chaos!

Anyway, after learning that tidbit I looked up the song "No Knock" and here it is. Well there's some joy in the day isn't there.
